The Midwest Antimicrobial Resistance Summit (MWARS) is a regional collaborative effort working to reduce the occurrence and spread of antibiotic resistant disease and preserve antibiotic strength by decreasing inappropriate antibiotic use by health-care providers, animal health personnel and the public.
The primary mission of MWARS is:
1. To pool and share available resources,
2. To work with a variety of companies in order to fully utilize funds by
securing discounts for large purchases,
3. To improve provider and public education efforts by sharing and evaluating
successes and failures.
